The Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs) were pleased to host the JCC Conference on October 6-7, 2025, at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Center, 1000 Burrard St, Vancouver, BC. Doctors of BC supports practicing BC physicians attending in person.

Accreditation/Certification statement

The Division of Continuing Professional Development, University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine (UBC CPD) is fully accredited by the Continuing Medical Education Accreditation Committee (CACME) to provide CPD credits for physicians. This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by UBC CPD. Keynote Presenters

Dr Jane Philpott (virtual keynote)

Dr Jane Philpott was appointed Chair of Ontario’s Primary Care Action Team in December 2024 with a mandate to ensure that everyone in Ontario is connected to primary care by 2029.

Dr Philpott is a family physician who served as the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University and director of its School of Medicine.

She previously held several senior roles in the Government of Canada, including Minister of Health, Minister of Indigenous Services and President of the Treasury Board, and spent more than 30 years in family medicine and global health.

Dr Philpott was previously appointed as a special advisor to the Ontario government to support the design and implementation of the Ontario Health Data Platform.

She is the author of “Health for All: A Doctor’s Prescription for a Healthier Canada,” that outlines her vision for rebuilding our health systems to provide primary care access for everyone.

Dr Elisabeth Baerg Hall

As a respected speaker, educator, and therapist specializing in adult ADHD, Dr Baerg Hall is highly sought after for her insight within and beyond the medical community. She is known for her leadership in advancing physician wellness, with a longstanding focus on supporting medical professionals through her targeted physician program, Build a Better Core and executive function workshops for physicians.

She leads The ADHD Centre for Education and Training and holds advisory and leadership roles at both provincial and national levels.

Dr Jillian Horton (SSC Keynote)

Jillian Horton, M.D., is an award-winning medical educator, writer, musician and podcaster. She completed a residency and a fellowship in internal medicine at the University of Toronto and has held the post of associate dean and associate chair of that department. For sixteen years, she has cared for thousands of patients in an inner-city hospital. During that time, she had three sons and mentored hundreds of students. She now leads the development of new programs related to physician wellness and won the 2020 AFMC–Gold Humanism Award. As a teacher of mindfulness, she is sought after by doctors at all stages of their careers. Horton completed a master’s in English at the University of Western Ontario before beginning her journey into the heart of medicine.
