Joint Collaborative Committees

The JCCs work to understand the needs of patients, government and health authorities, the medical profession and key interest holders, including other health professionals, when making decisions. Their work is grounded in quality improvement methodologies and framed around the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI’s) Quintuple Aim:

Improve patient experience

A key dimension of health care quality, patient experience is the comprehensive journey of all interactions between a patient and the health care system. It is understanding care from the patient and family perspective.

Improve provider experience

A foundational element of high-performing health care systems, provider experience is the interactions, workflows, and environments that health care providers navigate in their professional roles. It is supporting and valuing providers to deliver safe, high-quality care in a positive work environment.

Reduce the per capita cost of care

Effective stewardship, with sustainable resource allocation and utilization in health care delivery and operations, ensures that care remains accessible and high-quality.

Advance health
equity

Equity is essential for a just and effective health care system. It is the distribution of health opportunities, resources, and outcomes across populations, addressing barriers and disparities so that individuals and communities have fair access to care and the opportunity to achieve their best possible health.

Improve population
health

Translating system efforts into meaningful health improvements requires focusing on population and health outcomes, which are the behavioural factors, clinical indicators, physiological and mental health conditions that reflect the physical and mental well-being of individuals or populations.
