Joint Collaborative Committees

New resources support patient, family, and caregiver engagement across the JCCs

Two new patient-centred resources are now available to strengthen our engagement with patient, family and caregiver partners and to recognize the value of their contributions to JCC work.

Developed for JCC staff and those supporting JCC-funded programs and initiatives, the new guides provide practical guidance on engagement and a consistent approach to compensation:

Developed collaboratively with patient partners, the JCC Co-Chairs, health system partners, and JCC staff, the tiered compensation framework reflects the different levels of engagement in JCC activities: contributing ($25 per hour), creating ($30 per hour), and leading ($50 per hour).

Implementation timeline

The new compensation framework has been available for implementation since September 1, 2026, for JCC-funded programs and initiatives that are ready to apply the new approach.

All JCC-funded activities will be required to offer honoraria under the new framework as of April 1, 2027. Programs and initiatives that are ready may implement the framework earlier; however, implementation is optional during the transition period between September 1, 2026 and April 1, 2027.

More information on initiative- or program-specific implementation timelines will be shared through each initiative/program’s respective communication channels.
