DESCRIPTION:Health Quality BC\nThe Clinician Fellowship in Health Care Quality offers an integrated learning experience for physicians and nurse practitioners. Fellows will bring forward an improvement project related to one of the Health Quality BC priority areas and will take part in activities to advance their project aims. \nFellows are embedded in the team for one year and work alongside staff and clinical leads on initiatives focused on health care quality. This includes mentorship from experienced clinical and administrative leaders who have led large-scale improvement efforts in the health care system. \n2025 focus areas:\n• Goals of Care and Frailty \n• Patient Safety \n• Health Misinformation \n• Planetary Health Impacts of Clinical Care \n• Rural & Remote Care \nApplication process and timeline\nThe fellowship program is open to physicians and nurse practitioners who are practicing in BC\, and is best suited for early-career clinicians with a demonstrated interest in improving the quality of care. \nTo apply\, please submit your current CV and cover letter by May 1\, 2025\, through the application page.  \nFellowship Commences: Successful applicants start their fellowship in September 2025. \nContact\nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Healthcare professionals play a critical role in addressing the systemic racism that affects Indigenous patients and communities. This webinar is for those who are beginning their journey as allies or navigating steps forward in their ongoing commitment to upstanding. Through shared experiences and insights from a panel of allies\, participants will leave with an understanding on how even small actions can contribute to creating a more inclusive\, respectful healthcare experience for Indigenous people and communities\, as well as practical actions they can take to interrupt racism in real-time. \nSkills Gained\n\n\nDescribe the impact of Indigenous-specific racism in healthcare and the role of healthcare professionals in addressing these systemic issues.\nIdentify actionable steps for interrupting racism and fostering respectful\, inclusive interactions with Indigenous patients.\nReflect on personal positionality and develop a deeper commitment to allyship\, incorporating lessons from the panel into practice.\n\nRegister for the webinar. \n\nDoctors of BC’s Indigenous Specific Anti-Racism (ISAR) and Cultural Safety Team with the support of the JCCs has collaborated with UBC CPD to support the education development of this webinar series. Learn more about UBC CPD’s partnership with Doctors of BC for this program.

SUMMARY:T'exelc (Williams Lake) Community-Based Experiential Learning Session
DESCRIPTION:The Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs) in partnership with Len Pierre Consulting and T’exelc (Williams Lake First Nation) are looking forward to hosting a Community-Based Experiential Learning Session on Wednesday\, May 21st\, 2025 from 5pm to 9pm in Williams Lake\, BC. \nDuring these sessions\, physicians will experience: \n\nImmersive & interactive cultural safety teachings\nProtocols from local/regional Indigenous communities\nA shared meal\, language\, history\, and stories\nA deeper understanding of residential school trauma.\nConnections with local health staff\, providers\, and community members\n\nPlease note that sessional time and mileage exceeding 50km one-way will be covered by the JCCs. \nSpace is limited to 50 participants. \nREGISTER HERE \nWe are grateful to hold this session on the unceded\, ancestral\, and traditional territory of the T’exelcemc (people of Sugarcane) who have lived on and stewarded these lands since time out of mind. You can learn more about T’exelc in this video . \nIn these sessions\, themes of colonial genocide\, systematic separation from Indigenous identity\, land and culture and the resulting mental and physical health disparities\, will be discussed.
