Our Story
For more than 20 years, four Joint Collaborative Committees (JCCs)—a partnership between Doctors of BC and the BC government—have been working to improve BC’s health care system together. The JCCs engage and support collaboration between doctors, government, health authorities, patients, families, and other stakeholders, to make a difference.

Truth and Reconciliation Artwork Now Available
As a representation to the commitment that Doctors of BC and the Joint Collaborative Committees have made towards Truth and Reconciliation, we have commissioned Indigenous artist sɬə́məxʷ (Rain Pierre) to design an art print that can be displayed in medical offices across British Columbia in order to create a welcoming space for Indigenous patients. This artwork is meant to inspire conversations, show support, and signify the importance of culturally safe care.
A print of this artwork is now available to every doctor and medical practice in British Columbia. A symbol of belonging and safety, displaying this piece in your practice is one way to show you are committed to the provision of culturally safe health care for Indigenous patients.

The Joint Collaborative Committees
The four Joint Collaborative Committees were created by Doctors of BC and the BC government as part of a commitment to work together to provide the best health care services to the people of BC. Each committee is dedicated to specific areas of health care – primary care (FPSC), specialist care (SSC), primary care/specialist care (Shared Care) and rural care (JSC).
